Central: Shetland Ponies at Tai Kwun

Organised by the HK Jockey Club — come meet and take photos with Shetland ponies at Tai Kwun.

• Saturday and Sunday, 11am–3pm
• $80 online (includes a $50 Tai Kwun voucher, so it’s basically $30) or $50 walk-in
• Worth booking in advance to get the voucher deal

West Kowloon: HKIE 50th Anniversary Carnival

A free STEM-focused carnival with interactive stalls run by Cathay, MTR, Huawei, CLP, and AECOM. Robot demonstrations, cheerleading, dance performances.

• 10am–6pm, free
• West Kowloon

Good for older kids who are into how things work, or younger ones who just like watching robots.

Everywhere: Get the Last Good Hiking Weekends In

We’re in the final weeks of comfortable hiking weather before summer humidity arrives. Recommended family-friendly routes:

• Bowen Road — flat, easy, no real scrambling
• Peak Circle Walk — views without the hard ascent
• Peak ascent from mid-levels — if you want a proper walk
• Pokfulam — quieter than the Peak, lovely trees
• Lamma Island — ferry makes it an adventure; flat coastal path to Yung Shue Wan
